Sky McFly’s is one of the quirkier places in the UP, if not for the name alone.

The former address of Sky’s was 301 Tone Road in Kincheloe, Chippewa County.

It was a restaurant that appeared to be connected with the Woodside Country Inn. In the 1980s there were problems with bankruptcy, which was probably the reason for the eventual closing, but no exact year was given. The properties, although closed and rotting in the mid-2010s, were all demolished by the 2020s.

Info on these properties is buried and probably known by only a few people, including bands and musicians who performed at Sky’s all those years ago.

If you choose to seek out this place while exploring rare roadside attractions in the UP, there is currently a Dollar General where Sky McFly's was. The motel is also gone and now just an empty lot.

A message left on the Water Winter Wonderland site states, “The only reason for the town and the bar was that there was a closed Air Force Base turned into five separate prisons. The only people in the bar were off shift Prison Guards, people with family in prison, and a few native Americans from the nearby reservation."
