Michigan Gamblers Help Detroit Casinos Hit $112.57M in July

If you are among the many who donated a few bucks to a Michigan casino in July, congratulations. You helped Detroit's three casinos have a very nice month.

According to the Michigan Gaming Control Board, MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino, and Hollywood Casino at Greektown reported $112.57 million in combined aggregate revenue for July 2026. That's revenue, not pure profit, but it's still the kind of number that the $20 you promised yourself you’d put on red feels like a drop in the bucket.

Table games and slots accounted for $111.64 million, up 5.3% from July 2025 and 9.6% from June. MGM led the pack with $52.5 million, followed by MotorCity at $34.32 million and Hollywood Casino at Greektown at $24.82 million.

To put it another way: The house had a solid July.

Michigan Bettors Also Left Money at the Sportsbook

Detroit's three casinos took $5.88 million in sports bets during July and kept $929,704 in sports betting revenue after payouts and adjustments. MotorCity led retail sports betting revenue with $461,165, followed by MGM at $360,265, and Greektown at $108,274.

And before you go imagining casinos stuffing all $112 million into a cartoon money vault they can swim in, taxes took a bite too. Detroit's casinos paid $9 million in state gaming taxes and submitted another $13.3 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit.

So, yes, Michigan gamblers had fun in July. The casinos appear to have enjoyed themselves, too.
