Anytime there’s any kind of infectious disease or virus. It’s important to get the word out and let people know if they’ve been exposed to anything dangerous. One of the most dangerous is rubeola, or as it’s commonly known measles.

Measles is probably one of the most contagious diseases but is mostly dangerous in young children and babies. Luckily for us, the MMR vaccine, which protects against measles, mumps, and rubella is available and usually has protection that lasts a long time. But regardless, it’s important to pay attention to the warning signs that you may have measles.

As the World Health Organization explains, measles can affect everyone, but mainly children:

Measles can affect anyone but is most common in children. Measles infects the respiratory tract and then spreads throughout the body. Symptoms include a high fever, cough, runny nose and a rash all over the body. Being vaccinated is the best way to prevent getting sick with measles or spreading it to other people
