With strobed red and white lights and smoke billowing over the platform, McGraw took the stage with “Truck Yeah.” Concertgoers were immediately mesmerized and on their feet as soon as the singer came to the stage.

McGraw’s vocals were strong as ever, taking fans on a journey through his catalog. He reminded us why he’s the hitmaker he is with “Where the Green Grass Grows,” and why he’s still a household name with “Standing Room Only.”

While many fans audibly voiced hopeful anticipation that either McGraw's wife Faith Hill or one of their three daughters would take the stage, they would not. There were no guest singers outside of opening acts Abby Anderson and Carly Pearce that would take the stage on Thursday night.

However, McGraw did have one massive surprise up his sleeve. During his third-to-last song before the encore, the NHL Stanley Cup was wheeled out by handlers to take center stage.

The Nashville Predators enter the NHL playoffs this weekend, taking on the Canucks. So, it made sense why the Stanley Cup should appear. The crowd roared for “I Like It, I Love It,” but even more so when the oldest trophy in North American professional sports took the stage.

With gigantic LED panels that projected McGraw on stage, he sported his staple T-shirt, jeans, cowboy boots and cowboy hat.

The singer didn’t leave the crowd with just one encore song, but three. Accompanied by clips from his time acting on the Taylor Sheridan hit, 1883, he sang his classic hit, “The Cowboy in Me.”

The crowd was captivated through the entirety of the song, erupting in loud affirmation cheers once the singer held his last note.

Tim McGraw heads to Knoxville, Tenn., next on his tour, ending in Sacramento, Calif., on June 29.
