Lansing's food scene is pretty wide-ranging. No matter what you might be craving, there's a BBQ joint, a Thai place, or a bakery full of sweets to satisfy you.

New Lansing Restaurant Opening This August

And coming this August, Lansing can add Italian Steakhouse to that ever-growing list.

The Lansing State Journal reports that a new restaurant called Toscana will be opening in the Red Cedar Development. That's the new development off Michigan Avenue between 127 and MSU, just south of Frandor.

Mark your calendars for August 18th, that's when Toscana plans to be open for dinners to start, and eventually build up to lunches, private events, and even brunch on the weekends. And who doesn't love a good brunch situation?

Italian Steakhouse, Toscana, Opening in Lansing

Toscana is going to focus on serving fresh, handmade pasta, and steaks, and sourcing as many ingredients locally as possible.

And although Toscana is part of a chain, General Manager, Eric Weber, says "It's not a cut and paste. It's not a duplicate of another concept we've done. All of our concepts are original".

Red Cedar Development Has Brought Businesses to Lansing

Toscana won't be the only restaurant in that area when it opens. In fact, the Red Cedar Development has brought several restaurants and other businesses to that corridor over the last few years.

The Red Cedar development already includes Red Cedar Lodge, a 127-room senior living facility; Gateway Lofts, 181 high-end apartments; University Edge, a student apartment complex totaling 792 beds; Hooked, a coffee and book store; Feng Cha, a tea and pastry shop; Old Bag of Nails, a restaurant and bar; Tropical Smoothie, a chain smoothie store; and Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists Physical Therapy, a chain physical therapy facility.

It's always excellent to see the growth of Lansing, especially when we've seen restaurants close recently. Hopefully, Toscana will be a delicious new addition!
