What’s Going on With Scoops Ice Cream in Old Town Lansing?

If you know me at all, you know that I love me some ice cream. So, I'm always checking out the different ice cream places that Lansing has to offer.

From soft serve to hard-packed, or 'hand-dipped', Lansing has a lot of places that serve this sweet treat.

However, if you're in the Old Town area, it seems like one ice cream shop may not be open.

What's Happening With Scoops in Old Town Lansing?

Scoops Ice Cream in Old Town appears to be temporarily closed.

I say 'appears to be' because it's unclear what the status of the business is.

Signs That Scoops Might Be Closed

If you do a Google search for Scoops, you'll see the business is listed as temporarily closed. If you visit the business's Facebook page, they haven't posted since August 2024. And upon visiting the location in person, I saw that the windows had paper covering them.

By this point in the season, Michigan walk-up ice cream joints are all open and ready to serve sweet treats, but it looks like Scoops hasn't opened for the season.

It would be sad to learn that Scoops closed, as it just reopened in July 2024. Scoops originally opened in 2018. Then, after being open a few years, it seemingly closed again.

Lansing Restaurant Closures

I hope that Scoops is not another place that Lansing sees close. Lansing has had several closures of local spots this year, including places like SaltRock Brewing CO, Slice by Saddleback, and more.
