The Ingham County Sheriff's Office recently announced that they collected over 900 pounds of pills at their pill receptacles at police lobbies throughout mid-Michigan. Various police stations including East Lansing, Williamston, Leslie, Mason and more have been collecting the pills since September 2017. The pills that were part of the 900 pound total also include pills collected at some of the area's high school football games last year.

According to WILX, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office collects the pills from all participating county police agencies twice a year. Officials would like to remind residents that they DO NOT inspect, question, or investigate anyone that volunteers to participate. Click here for more info.
