Pets relieve stress.

Pets, especially dogs and cats, can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, ease loneliness, encourage exercise and playfulness, and even improve your cardiovascular health. Caring for an animal can help children grow up more secure and active. (helpguide)

People have started to take them to work and offices have slowly become cool with that. A lot of places have an official work animal on the premises. Business cat or office dog is now a normal sighting at most places of work.

Take Your Dog To Work? How About School?

Research published in 2020 in partnership with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) found that having animals in the classroom can have a positive impact on learning by directly increasing motivation, engagement, self-regulation, and human social interaction. (T74)

And if you're thinking about bringing a fur baby into your life and your home, our friends at Capital Area Humane Society would like to have a word with you.

Don't Shop, Adopt

If you're a cat person, they've got a $10 adoption special on adult kitties until the end of the month.

We know that folks love the puppies but have you considered adopting an old pro? They've got some seasoned vets over at the shelter and they'd love to come home and cuddle with you too.

You can see their entire shelter full of animals online HERE.

If you're looking to give back to your community and you just happen to love animals, they are looking for volunteers.

If you've got questions you can reach out or better yet just make a trip over to CAHS. Ask questions, see the animals, spend time with them in their special visitation rooms and more.
