Grand Rapids Makes Top 10 List Of Best Cities To Live In For 2022
He begins with "every city has bad things like crime, poverty, bad weather and drugs." He continues with, "That's life. Typically if a city has a lot of those, than it's affordable and if it doesn't, then it'll be expensive". Words from Briggs...
Briggs is a You Tuber. He makes lists and videos about places. Mostly all state-side places. He's a former military guy who has been to all 50 states and lived in many of them. He has nearly 700 thousand subscribers on his You Tube channel called World According To Briggs.
In his latest effort, Briggs lists the Top 10 Best Cities in America to live in for 2022.
Starting the list at #10 is Grand Rapids. Briggs says that Grand Rapids has seen some tough times but is doing better now. He continues that it's a great place to live if you don't mind the cold.
He mentions that Grand Rapids is far enough away from Detroit so we don't get "that stank" on us and we're not too far from Lake Michigan which is always fun. He says that summers are always good in Michigan if you can get past the mosquitos.
Why does Briggs feel Grand Rapids is a good place to live?
He explains that the metro has just over 1 million residents so it's not terribly crowded. He continues that the average home price in America is $270,000 and Grand Rapids is reasonable with the mean at $296,000. Rent averages about $880 per month.
Briggs states that Grand Rapids is for the younger set as the median age is 35. He states that GR has a great craft brew scene, a lot to do outdoors and a growing tech community. Grand Rapids livability score is 6.8 out of 10.
In a previous video counting down the Top 10 states to live in, Michigan began that countdown too at number ten.
