Graduating from college soon? Congratulations. I think I speak for all parents when I ask, "Where ya headed now, Magellan?" (Dads are always good for a funny, if not slightly demeaning line, huh?)

Good news, (almost) graduate! If you've got the skills, software development company Nexient is "looking to hire hundreds of new employees" at their offices near Ann Arbor. According to MLive.com, they'll be hiring 300 people in the next three years. Their CEO, Mark Orttung, says,  "We spend a lot of energy in bringing new college graduates and running boot camps and helping them become a part of the workforce," Orttung said. "We feel we have a compelling offering and can hire both mid-level and senior level and develop entry level applicants."

This is actually good news for smaller cities everywhere. The Nexient people are based in Silicon Valley, but they now have offices in Kokomo, Indiana and Ann Arbor, because it's so much cheaper to operate out of a small town - as long as you have the right workforce nearby. My guess is more Silicon Valley companies will be hopping on that band wagon, soon.

Good luck. Dress nice, smile and stay off your phone. Here's the story.
