This past week, people were out on Lake Superior. Along Pictured Rocks National Seashore in Munising, it was probably fairly warm. I'm sure some enjoyed a day out on the water in their kayaks. I'm sure some families took their picnic baskets full of pasties to the beach, thankful for the sunshine. And free ice. Because there are still giant chunks of ice - some might call them "icebergs" - along the lake coastline in the U.P.

There's three feet of snow in some places in the U.P. There's two feet of ice around Isle Royale and there's big chunks off the coast near Marquette. MLive.com posted some cool (no pun intended) photos from around this time in 2014, when the lake was still 35% covered by ice. This year it's only about 6%. Don't worry - it won't be there much longer. But, here's your chance to stand up in your canoe and do your "King of the world!" Titanic post on Instagram.
