Another Business Closure Coming to East Lansing
In what seems to be very sad news that was waiting to happen, we have word of another business closure in the greater Lansing area.
Business Closures in the Lansing Area
It was just the other day that we learned that after nearly a quarter of a century in the community, the Stillwater Grill in Okemos closed its doors for the last time. This time, we learn of a business closure in East Lansing.
The Lansing City Pulse reports that Foods For Living is going to be closing its doors.
Foods For Living is an independent grocer that placed its focus on natural foods that has been in East Lansing and in operation since 1997—that's 27 years! It's terribly sad to see a business that has been a staple of the community for so long close its doors.

The Store Director, Rebecca Zader, didn't have much to say other than to confirm that the store will be closing soon and that they'll start liquidating inventory in about a month.
The pandemic definitely took a toll on businesses, but it didn't help that Foods For Living had a "big box store" Whole Foods move in across the street. Whole Foods also specializes in natural and organic foods, so it definitely took away some business from Foods For Living. And the new Trader Joe's that being built right on that same strip of Grand River will put a dent in business even more.
