Oklahoma is said to have more ghosts per capita than anywhere else in the country, or at least it would seem that way! The Sooner State has more than its fair share of urban legends, ghost stories, tall tales, and haunted places.
Oklahoma is home to one of the most historical and haunted theaters in the entire country. The Constantine Theater in Pawhuska, OK. was originally built back in the late 1800s as a hotel and later into a theater. It was billed as the "Finest Opera House in the Southwest" when it opened in December of 1914.

The female ghost at the Constantine Theater has been seen by several people and investigators. She usually hangs out on the balcony but has been known to walk the lower levels as well. She supposedly likes to attend the movies and mingle with the guests. She's described as wearing a fancy button-down dress, just like they wore in the mid-1900s. Her temperament is friendly and curious. So she's not too scary...For a ghost anyway.
Some say it's the ghost of Sappho Constantine Brown, the daughter of George Constantine. There's even a book written about it "Haunted Highway, the Spirits of Route 66" written by Ellen Robson and Dianne Freeman. There's also talk of a male ghost who likes to appear on stage and behind scenes from time to time. If not friendly, he's not threatening. Most people say he's trying to be helpful to those around him.
