Eddie Murphy’s Beverly Hills Cop 4 Set to Film in Downtown Detroit
Axel Foley is back in action, and Detroit is about to become center stage for all the action.
Netflix's highly anticipated upcoming film Beverly Hills: Axel Foley, once again starring Eddie Murphy, is set to film in Detroit. A filming notice has made its way around social media with the full shooting schedule for the movie in downtown Detroit.
According to the notice, filming will be taking place starting Sunday, November 27th through Friday, December 2nd. The notice indicates that filming will happen along Washington Blvd. between State Street. and Grand River Avenue as well as in the alley between Shelby Street and Washington Blvd. There will also be scenes shot that will result in the closure of State Street between Washington Blvd to Griswold Street.
The notice advises that some of the sequences being filmed will involve simulated car chases and stunt driving. Detroiters are being told to be aware of smoke effects etc. Both the Detroit police and fire departments will be on-site during the week of filming.
The new Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley will be the fourth film in the franchise. The movie will once again see Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley back on the job in Beverly Hills, In addition to Murphy reprising his iconic role from the original 1984 hit Beverly Hills Cop, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser, and Bronson Pinchot will also bring back their infamous characters from the past three films.
There is no word on whether Murphy or the other stars will be part of the week of filming in Detroit. The movie doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but it will be available on Netflix.
