Do You Truly Believe We’ve Seen The Last Of The Snow?
Your optimism is refreshing.
But I've been to this movie one too many times.
Been there, done that, got the t-shirt, almost caught pneumonia after being suckered into believing winter was over in Michigan.
Come on outside. Look. The snow has melted. It's almost fifty, no...sixty degrees. Surely spring is here and soon there will be flowers and birds chirping and...
Hold your horses mother nature. I'm not falling for the banana in the tailpipe again.
You're not going to lull me into thinking winter is over and you're gonna play nice. One, you're mother nature. Two, this is Michigan where one of our many state mottos (like we only have two seasons winter and construction) is "if you don't like the weather, wait five minutes".
This state and it's weather moods are about as fickle as you trying to decide what you want to watch on Netflix. Maybe you'll change it up and try something different. But nope, back to what you know.
Cold and snow.
Folks rolling out in shorts and flip flops and spring clothes now are the same suckers that have lived here year after year and see this hocus pocus, shenanigans show before.
Legit conversation with a friend of mine today did indeed include the words, "oh no, it's warm now and it's over".
I don't trust it.
We're going to need a month of almost 50 degrees before you can change my mind.
Sure we're in the midst of spring break.
And spring begins on March 20th.
But I've been around too long to know that there's always one last big "hurrah" before winter officially walks out the door.
And if we've already seen it so be it.
And if I'm wrong, it won't be the first time.
But if it snows again, don't say I didn't want you.
I'm almost counting on it.
