Detroit Automotive-Based Sitcom Coming To NBC
If you could become a professional binge watcher, would you? Cause I would. I'm basically a professional already, I just don't get paid for it. There's a company that will pay you to binge Netflix, eat pizza and write reviews. Now you're speaking my language. The winner will be chosen at random on National Pizza Day, February 9th, 2020.
They're not clear on what three TV shows you have watch, but it would be cool if it was one that hasn't been released yet. Maybe a new sitcom?
Speaking of sitcoms, there's a new one called "American Auto" that's making it's way to NBC for the 2021-2022 season, and it hits close to home. It's about a group of struggling executives in the Detroit auto industry and how they try to evolve in the marketplace.
Writer and executive producer of NBC's comedy series "Superstore", Justin Spitzer will be the producer of "American Auto". Ana Gasteyer, "Saturday Night Live" alum, will play the fictional character, Mary Barra, CEO of the auto company. Other cast members include Michael B. Washington, Harriet Dyer, Jon Barinholtz, Humphrey Ker, Tye White and X Mayo.
I wish they'd release a trailer for it already. I'm excited to check it out. I think we need a good Detroit based comedy. "American Auto" isn't the only Michigan based TV show. Did you know that Home Improvement was about a Metro Detroit family? Freaks and Geeks was also set in a fictional suburb of Detroit called Chippewa, Michigan. Here's more TV shows you may not know were set in Michigan.
