For years, The Cheesecake Factory has been one of those chains that people seemed to have a want for and could probably have a really good showing in the greater Lansing area.

The next nearest locations are both approximately an hour away, with one spot in Kentwood near Grand Rapids and another in Novi.

Rumors About The Cheesecake Factory in Lansing

Where are these sweet rumors from? Where else but one of Lansing's top sources for food news: the Lansing Foodies Facebook group. And, they came with receipts.

User Kadenna E. said that when she was looking to browse The Cheesecake Factory menu when Google showed her something interesting: a Google Maps suggestion that The Cheesecake Factory is allegedly looking at a spot in Lansing for a "proposed development".

When you zoom in on the map, it looks like the location that's being considered is near Eastwood Towne Center, between NCG Cinema and Preyde Boulevard.

I searched The Cheesecake Factory's website in search of any "coming soon" locations, but I couldn't find any. And while the comments were hopeful, there are some signs suggest this might not happen.

Lansing State Journal reached out to a Cheesecake Factory spokesperson who offered no specific comment on Lansing as a potential market, only that they're always on the lookout for good spots.
Someone commented on the post saying that "There has been no mention of a Cheesecake Factory coming to Eastwood in the township planning committee meeting minutes that I’ve seen."

So, in conclusion... do we know if The Cheesecake Factory is coming to Lansing? No. But, it could. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I mean, how many years did it take for Trader Joe's to come to the area after that giant Facebook group was started to bring one?
