Lansing Bakery Cakes-A-Bloomin’ Is Still Serving Up the Goodies
I always love to hear that a local Lansing business is thriving, which is why I'm so happy to learn that Cakes-A-Bloomin' is still serving up delicious baked goods!
Why Cakes-A-Bloomin’ Almost Closed
In February this year, the original owner announced that they would be retiring after 50 years and that Cakes-A-Bloomin' would close. The previous owner had been battling MS and leukemia for over 20 years.
However, it was purchased by someone new who's continuing the sweet tradition.
Meet the New Owner, Josie Paterson
The new owner of Cakes-A-Bloomin' is Josie Paterson, who purchased the business in May this year. Despite the business changing hands, it never actually closed and is turning out the same delicious recipes from the same baker. It's just under new ownership.
Josie trained her baking skills for two months before stepping into the business, but she has a lot of skills in her chef's apron because her resume is impressive. She's worked in food or food service in some capacity for over 20 years, managing bars, restaurants, and more.

These days, Josie is working on her decorating skills, learning from her skilled decorator on staff.
