Lansing Business Closures in 2025
While we are only a short way into 2025, we've already seen one restaurant close, and now we have another goodbye to make.
Lansing is saying goodbye to longtime bakery, Cakes-A-Bloomin'.
Cakes-A-Bloomin' has been in Lansing since 1974. Now, this favorite bakery will before closed before the end of the year.

In a post to their Facebook page, Cakes-A-Bloomin' has this to say;
Many of you know that she has also been dealing with complications from MS and leukemia in the last 20+ years. She has been fortunate enough to be able to still do what she loves and continue to create delicious masterpieces that make any event special for about 50 years. The bakery has been scaling back recently to continue to serve the community for as long as possible.Unfortunately, the time has come to retire. We don’t have a set date but Cakes A Bloomin will forever close its doors sometime early spring. So make sure you stock up on your favorites until then.
At this time, there is no specific date on when Cakes-A-Bloomin' will be closing their doors, but they did say sometime this spring, and they encouraged patrons to get their favorite goodies while they're still open.
It's always sad to see local favorite close their doors for the last time, especially one that has be part of Lansing for over 50 years. Be sure to say your goodbyes and patronize while you can.
