Blake Shelton Honors Michigan Hometown Heroes Before Concert
Blake Shelton is making his way to Michigan for one of the stops on his Friends and Heroes 2021 Tour. You'll be able to catch him out in Grand Rapids at Van Andel Arena on Thursday, September 30th. But live music isn't going to be the only thing happening at the concert that night.
Blake took the name of his tour to heart and decided that he wanted to identify and honor "a special community member on each stop of the Friends and Heroes 2021 run." So, Van Andel helped him find a hometown hero that deserves to be celebrated. Actually, for his Grand Rapids, Michigan stop, Blake Shelton will be honoring not one, but TWO hometown heroes; Cari Steensma and Kameron Gaffney. Cari and Kameron are actually a couple and both are currently "serving in the U.S. Army National Guard military police", and they're going out with a bang! The concert is on Thursday, September 30th, and the couple gets deployed the very next day, for a whole year.
Blake Shelton is essentially throwing them the biggest going away party ever, and you're invited! Cari and Kameron will sit front row during the show, plus receive some other goodies in a prize pack that they will get that night. If you're going to the show, be sure to keep your eye out for these hometown heroes and thank them for their service.
Blake Shelton isn't the only country artist to bring their tour through Michigan. Check out the gallery below to see some of the other amazing artists who've been here.
