USA Today recently released their annual Restaurants of the Year list, and of the 44 restaurants named, two Michigan restaurants made the list!

The Best Restaurants in America Named By USA Today

If a restaurant makes this list, you know it has to be good. First, there are only 44 restaurants on this list, meaning not every state is represented. So to be on this list AND have two spots on it, that's pretty darn good.

By best, they don't mean "fanciest" or "most expensive" either. These restaurants are the best because of the atmosphere and delicious food they offer.

this year’s USA TODAY Restaurants of the Year isn’t just another list of hot spots with monthslong waits for reservations in major metros like New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. It’s a celebration of local flavors and stories, curated by reporters from across the country

The Best Restaurants in Michigan

The two Michigan restaurants that make the list are:

Tomato Brothers in Howell

This restaurant has been in the area for over 60 years, serving up delicious Italian and Greek favorites. Don't miss out on the breadsticks, they're the star of the show.

And...

Mabel Gray in Hazel Park

This is only the second year that USA Today has released this list, and Mabel Gray has made it both times.

They are a bit fancier, with offerings such as "steak frites, a 60-day dry-aged, bone-in American wagyu strip steak served with a hearty bowl of house-made fries decorated with pecorino and herbaceous clippings of fresh rosemary".

But, even their "basic" stuff is so good that you have to make a reservation, and those spots get snapped up quickly. To be fair, just look how mouth-watering this burger looks...

Either way, it seems you can't go wrong.
