The story of the original Batmobile is actually very interesting. I just got off the phone with a friend of mine, Jonnie King, who knows EVERYTHING about the Batmobile. Jonnie used to be a DJ on some of the greatest radio stations in America, and he's my "go-to" guy for any information about famous cars. He has a whole website devoted to classic hot rods, and it just so happens that a couple of years ago he interviewed George Barris - the guy who created the Batmobile, as well as the "Munster Koach" and the truck they used in the "Beverly Hillbillies".
