Beloved Lansing Sandwich Shop Babe’s Corner Is Moving Downtown

Change is in the air, and it smells like hoagies.

I know that was weird and oddly cryptic, but it got your attention, right?

Change is coming to Lansing's food landscape because a beloved sandwich shop is moving: Babe's Corner.

Lansing first learned about this move mid-December 2025 when a large "Available" sign was put up in the front window.

First there was panic, as no announcement was made and only an "Available" sign was seen. But eventually Babe's Corner chimed in on the chatter happening on Facebook to let everyone know they are just planning on moving.

Where and When is Babe's Corner Moving?

Babe's will be moving into the Strange Matter Coffee Co. and Bangos located at the corner of Kalamazoo Street and Washington Square Downtown Lansing.

At first, there was no word on when the move would be happening. Now we know! This Saturday, January 24, will be the last day for Babe's Corner in its original spot.

From then, Babe's will take its time to move over into the Downtown Strange Matter. At this time, there's no specific reopening date, but the Babe's Corner Facebook will keep people posted.

In the Facebook post making the announcement of the move,  it appears that Babe's owner, had a message for patrons about the move:

It's a bittersweet move and I hope you follow us over. It is only .8 of a mile away! This move was a personal decision I felt I needed to make if I was going to keep Babe's and Bangos going into the future. Thanks for understanding and your continued patronage!

The owner of Babe's Corner, Aaron Hebert, is also the owner of Bangos, so the move makes sense as far as sharing a space is concerned.
