What I call “laughin’ and scratchin’, I’ve been doing a long time. I grew up in Chicago, and the long and winding road of radio brought me to Kalamazoo in January of ‘87. Had an awful lot of fun at one special radio station, next door, but like Tom Brady, let’s see what we can do here. Both my sons were born here. Michael lives here and is a long time Rocker listener, and David is now living the dream in Chicago, hoping to be a comedy writer. Proud to say they're my best friends.

We're a few days away from what is essentially a state holiday, Oberon Day. But what has happened since the last Oberon Day and the one on March 21st begs the question: Is Bell's still a craft brewer of craft beer?
Two of the World’s Greatest Singers Died in Kalamazoo
Celebrity deaths in Kalamazoo: The most famous of those would be Bobby Hatfield, the blond hair member of the 1960's pop singing duo, The Righteous Brothers. Years earlier, if you're a fan of opera, Metropolitan Opera star tenor Richard Tucker died of a heart attack, in Kalamazoo, in 1975. Some say Tucker is the greatest tenor of all-time.

It used to be that springtime meant the start of Little League, and this year it might still mean that, but it also means the start of esports and Mario Kart, as the Kalamazoo Parks and Recreation Department teams up with WMU's eSports department for a tournament for local middle schoolers.

The Not-So-Happy Story of A Hollywood Movie Made In Kalamazoo
You have to look back all the way to 1978 for probably the biggest (and maybe, best) movie to have been filmed in Kalamazoo. "Blue Collar" was filmed at the Checker Motors factory on the north side.

This Former MSU QB, Not Matthew Stafford, Is The Best Ex-Lion To Win A Super Bowl Ring
This was a fun rabbit-hole to go down as we watched people in Detroit go nuts over Matthew Stafford leading the Los Angeles Rams to a Super Bowl victory, and getting a ring after over a decade of being stuck with the Lions.
This 8,000 Sq. Ft. ‘Home’ in Dorr Is For Sale And Offers More… and More
I've seen enough TV home rehab shows to know you have to have a lot of imagination. For this property in Dorr, Michigan, maybe even more than that for this former schoolhouse that became a family home over fifty years ago.
The Michigan Connection To Chicago’s St. Valentine’s Day Massacre
It's interesting. We just passed the 93rd anniversary of the infamous St. Valentine's Day Massacre, where seven members of the Bugs Moran gang were gunned down in a Lincoln Park garage. Moran was quoted the next day on the front page of the Chicago Tribune as saying "Only Capone kills like that". But there's a Michigan connection. No, not the silly rumor about Capone having a house off Gull Road in Kalamazoo. It's a real connection to the city of St. Joseph.
