A New Bar and Grill is Taking Over the Old Champps Location in Lansing
Lots of change is happening at Eastwood Towne Center in Lansing, including a new restaurant taking over the old Champps location.
New Bar and Restaurant Opening in Lansing
Champps Kitchen + Bar first opened in Eastwood Towne Center in 2003, according to the Lansing State Journal. Sadly, it closed 20 years later in June 2023.
Like many restaurants, Champps struggled during and post-Covid and were never able to get business back to remain open. Now, a new bar and restaurant will be taking over that old location.

Art & Jake's Opening a Location in Lansing Michigan
Art & Jake's is a small Michigan-based chain that got its start over 20 years ago in Shelby Township. Now, it has five Michigan locations, with the sixth Lansing location to open soon. And, it even has a location in Newnan, Georgia.
As of right now, Art & Jake's website says that the Lansing location will be done in Spring 2024. But to be fair, at the time of writing this, summer will be here in two weeks. At this time, it appears that construction is still taking place on the new building, as the old Champps was torn down to make way for Art & Jake's.
