I have developed a bad habit, my friend.

Well, I guess if you think about it, it's not really that bad of a bad habit, I guess. I mean ever since we've moved through the recent Phases due to Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer lifting Stay At Home orders in our state, I have found myself still always wearing a mask when I leave the house. And most of the time when I don't need to cover my nose and mouth with the thing, I kind of let it hang down under my chin where it's at the ready at a seconds notice whether I'm out and about at the store or something or I'm at work. Both places that expect me and us to wear a mask and practice social distancing.

So, here is where the bad habit comes in...As you can see in the photo above, I am in front of the mic in the WITL Studio, with a mask on. So this habit has just started the last few shows of mine on the station. Here's what happens. I wear the mask, I'm by myself in the studio, I turn the microphone on to speak with you, and immediately after I turn the microphone on, I pull my mask up over my nose and mouth. Just like in the picture you see there. Why? I just don't know.

So what would normally come out as something like, "Thanks for listening today to WITL" ends up sounding like, "Thansth or lifteneng tudy tu Oble-U-Eye-Thee-Ell". By the way, if you had no problem translating the mask speak here, you've obviously heard it when it happens on the air.

I'm going to have to work hard on breaking this habit. But not so hard I guess that the reverse happens and I forget to pull the mask on in public. People can really give you the stink eye when they see you've forgotten to pull your mask on.

At least, that's what I've heard...
