As summer winds down I am asking the question, where did summer go? It's really hard to believe that my sons are going back to school next week. As I get older, time is flying by and it's a reminder to me to make every day and minute count.

Traditionally we take a trip during the summer. For the past couple of years we've been to the U.P. multiple times, Washington D.C., Chicago and Branson, Missouri. Yeah, Branson. I used to live in Branson, my stay was brief, I only lived there for six months in 1994. I was there long enough to know that Branson is a lot fun and we had a blast there last summer.

I had a couple of days off recently and was trying to figure out some fun things to do in mid Michigan. We hit MOOville in Nashville and that was a ton of fun. We also hit the East Lansing Family Aquatic Center.

The East Lansing Family Aquatic Center is located at 6400 Abbot Rd #1422, East Lansing, MI 48823. They are open 7 days a week from 11a - 7p. My first impression was awesome. The facility is clean and tidy. I didn't see a bunch of band aids floating in the water or laying by the side of the pool.

They have 2 water slides, a diving pool, splash pads, 1 meter diving board and other water features too. There are plenty of lifeguards on duty keeping an eye on all of the water activities.

For a non resident or East Lansing it is $11, if you are a resident it is only $8. That is a small price to pay for a day's worth of fun.

Don't worry about food, you can't bring it into the park. They do have affordable concessions available for purchase. Fill your belly with hotdogs, hamburgers, ice cream treats and so much more. If you choose to bring your own food there are picnic tables and seating area outside the park for you to enjoy.

If you are like me and are trying to do something fun to wrap up the summer, the East Lansing Family Aquatic Center could be the answer for that last minute summer memory.
