Motorists, you've been warned...

According to an MDOT bulletin released this afternoon, US-127 northbound here in Lansing, between I-496 and Lake Lansing Road will be closed this weekend for pavement repairs. The road will be closed starting this Friday (August 11th) at 9 pm and will reopen on Monday (August 14th) at 7 am. MDOT also notes that "all work is weather dependent." Here's a look at this weekend's forecast.

There are detours in place for those who are heading north on 127 as well as for those trying to access northbound 127 from eastbound 496. You can read how those detours will work, here. But just a heads up, the detour they give for those traveling northbound on 127 will take you way out of your way before actually getting back onto northbound 127. I'd suggest a different route... get off at the Trowbridge exit, then head north on Harrison. Take northbound Harrison to Kalamazoo, then turn left. You'll head west on Kalamazoo until you come to Homer, turn right at Homer. Go north on Homer until you come to Saginaw. Take eastbound Saginaw until you get to Coolidge, then turn left. Go north on Coolidge until you get to Lake Lansing, then turn left. Head west on Lake Lansing until you get to the 127 entrance ramp. Thanks to Google Maps, I highlighted the route for you below!
