The Detroit Red Wings 2019-2020 schedule is out and as usual there are a few games that stand out on the upcoming season schedule.

According to the Red Wings, the regular season opens in Nashville against the Predators on Saturday night, October 5th.

The home opener at Little Caesars Arena will be the next night October 6th against the Dallas Stars. The games against two Western Conference teams will be a good test to start the season for the Red Wings.

The Red Wings Atlantic Division rival, Toronto Maple Leafs are in Detroit on Saturday Night, October 12th.   No matter where the teams are during the season these games are always entertaining.

The Red Wings will head west for their Western Canada tour in mid-October.  One of those games, October 18th will be in Edmonton.  This will be the first time the Red Wings face former General Manager, Ken Holland.  Holland is the new GM in Edmonton.

Steve Yzerman and the Red Wings will face Tampa on December 29th.   In recent years the Lightining have owned the Red Wings we'll see if the Red Wings can change their recent history against one of the top teams in the NHL.

Can the Red Wings improve on their last couple of seasons near the bottom of the league?   We'll see when the team opens the season in October.
