For several years now, the August NASCAR race at Michigan International Speedway has been sponsored by the "Pure Michigan" campaign of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. I've got the hat to prove it.

Well, that's over.

According to ESPN.com, "Pure Michigan" is ending their sponsorship. According to  Dave Lorenz (hey, we interviewed that guy at the track), vice president of Travel Michigan, "Today, opportunities to take a more targeted approach to marketing mean we can deliver interest-specific information to audiences that overlap with those attending the race at MIS through our digital campaign efforts."

And yeah - that guy in the photo? That's actually from last year's "Pure Michigan 400". So, you might actually know that guy. I like his style.
