Top 5 ‘Most Admired’ Companies In Michigan
According to Mlive.com, there are five companies based in Michigan (out of a list of more than 200) that made the list of the 'World's Most Admired Companies'. The list was developed by Fortune Magazine and not surprisingly, Apple and Google are at the top of the list for 2015.
The list was developed by Hays Group which is a consulting firm that surveys executives, directors and analysts from a total of 692 companies in 30 countries to determine the list. There were nine major factors that were used when people ranked the companies. Some of those factors included innovation, people management, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, quality of products and services and global competitiveness.
I'm a little sad to report that our company didn't make the list this year. (Banana Don has requested that they put beer in the vending machine and if that happens...well, we will surely shoot to the top...) Anyway, the top 5 'most admired companies' in Michigan are:
Ford Motor Company in Dearborn
General Motors in Detroit
Steelcase in Grand Rapids
Stryker in Kalamazoo
Whirlpool in Benton Harbor
