Scientists say the recent two-week long deep-freeze here in Michigan - right around Christmas - was the sixth coldest on record and only happens every 250 years or so.

According to MLive.com, the last time we had a colder two week stretch of weather was at the end of 1981 - almost 40 years ago. They say, a century ago "it wouldn't have been that strange. Things like this are becoming stranger."
