*  1992 - Riots begin in LA when jury acquits officers of Rodney King beating

*  And, in 2004, OLDSMOBILE (headquartered in Lansing)

builds final car ending 107 years of production

In 1863. Newspaper publisher William Randolph Hearst was born, Dale Earnhardt was born in 1952 (d. 2001),  Jerry Seinfeld was born in 1954, Daniel Day-Lewis was born in 1957, Eve Plumb (Jan Brady) & Michelle Pfeiffer were both born in 1958!
