Michigan’s Upper Peninsula Roadside Parks Open Today
In a sure sign that we're getting closer and closer to warmer weather, according to the Michigan Department of Transporation, many of the roadside parks in Michigan's Upper Peninsula will open today. MDOT owns and maintains 32 roadside parks in the Upper Peninsula and they say most of those parks will open today.
However, officials with the department say that the opening of some parks is still being delayed until this weekend because of the harsh winter weather. Nine roadside parks located in Luce, Alger, Chippewa and Schoolcraft counties will remain closed and are tentatively schedulted to open on May 1st.
