Michigan State defensive coordinator Mike Tressel is up for the Broyles Award which is given to the top assistant coach in college football.

(To be fair - according to MLive.com, Michigan's defensive coordinator, Don Brown, is up for the same award)

After sharing the duty with Harlan Barnett for the past three years, Coach Tressel is in his first season as the Spartan's sole defensive coordinator, but he's already responsible for them being the #1 rushing defense in the nation. He also coaches the linebackers. The Broyles Award winner will be announced on December 4th. Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi won the award in 2013.

And obviously Coach Tressel and the Spartans have their work cut out for them this week, against the Buckeyes. Good luck, Coach.
