The walleye are running in Saginaw Bay and that means (if you like walleye fishing) soon, you might be $100 richer.

According to Mlive.com, the Michigan DNR has tagged and released about 3000 walleye with bright orange tags, in the tributaries around Saginaw Bay. About 20% (around 600) of those have a tag worth $100 if you catch it, take a clear photo of it and send it to the DNR at michigan.gov/taggedfish.

Reporting the catch helps the DNR track how many fish are being harvested and how many are surviving. You can fish for them right now on Saginaw Bay and starting April 28th on the rivers around there.

Good luck!
