Richard Crum is 90 years old, lives in Williamston and was on Omaha Beach in France, during D-Day, 70 years ago this Friday. According to the State Journal, he was part of the 1st Infantry - the Big Red One. After the war, Mr. Crum moved to Michigan, raised a family and had a long career as an ag technician at Michigan State. We owe a lot to guys like Richard. If you see him around town, tell him thanks.
