Michigan lawmakers are mourning the loss of one of their own. According to Mlive, Michigan Rep. John Kivela's body was found in a Lansing home on Tuesday in an apparent suicide after a recent drunk driving arrest. The Democrat from Marquette was arrested earlier this week along US 127 for suspected drunk driving. Kivela was released from the Clinton County jail on Tuesday morning and his body was found around 1pm Tuesday afternoon.

Senator David Knezek, who was a friend of Kivela, wrote a heartfelt Facebook post on Tuesday after hearing of his friend and colleague's death.
