A family who moved to Michigan from Texas two years ago, just found a dog they lost - six years ago.

According to the Kerrville,Texas Daily Times, the Hinton family ran a camp in the Hill Country area of Texas (just north of San Antonio) for 10 years, before they moved to Grand Rapids two years ago. One day, six years ago, their puppy Leo ran away. They put out flyers and searched for him, but never found him. Laine Hinton, who's 10 years old now, says she told her friends Leo had run off to become "king of the coyotes". In May of this year, Kerr County Animal Services called Kathleen Appling, Allison Hinton's mother, about a micro-chipped dog with her phone number as a contact. Kathleen thought that her daughter and son-in-law had given Leo away to friends before they moved north. Not true.

Leo's obviously been in the area, running in the wild for a time. He had fleas and some in infected teeth, but the Hinton's plan to bring Leo home to Michigan, soon.
