U.S. Navy Admiral William H. McRaven was the commencement speaker on May 17th, at the University of Texas. Admiral McRaven is the commander of U.S. Special Operations Command. That means he commands SEAL Team 6 (DEVGRU), Delta Force and the most "shadowy" of all spec ops forces, a group known only as "The Activity" or ISA (look it up).  36 years ago Admiral McRaven went through SEAL training. What he learned in SEAL training has stayed with him since. At the commencement, he talked about the ten life lessons he learned during those six months.

I'll be forwarding this to my two daughters, right after I share it with you. But it's good advice for everybody.

And, Michigan State, I'd like to see someone with this kind of message at my daughter's graduation in two years. I don't think I'm alone on this one. Thanks.
