Tip of the hat to my daughter Lauren, for sending me the link to a YouTube video, from Gregory Todd, a songwriter in Nashville who says a lot of HUGE recent hit country songs sound the same - because they follow a formula that he intends to break, so he can have the next big hit.

In the video you are about to watch, six hit songs from the last couple of years (you'll recognize all of them) are played simultaneously on a computer, utilizing audio editing software, so the audio can be isolated from each song at certain parts. If you wanna know which songs are which, go to the left hand side of the display for the titles. And if you go to YouTube to watch this, you'll get the songwriter's explanation below the video. And a lot of haters and nuts in the comments section.
