Ingham County Sheriff’s Office Issues SCAM ALERT

Officials from the Ingham County Sheriff's Office are warning residents about a new phone scam. In the latest scam, callers state that they are from the Ingham County Sheriff's Office and are attempting to collect money for back taxes. They claim that you will be arrested and charged with tax fraud if you don't pay.

The number on the Caller ID shows 517-676-2431, which is the Sheriff's Office main number. If you receive one of these calls, please DO NOT send money, make wire transfers, or give out credit card information to the callers. For more information on the phone scam, click here.
