We all go through life losing people we love and even tougher to handle when it is family.  I had a big family growing up with 8 brothers and sisters and 13 aunts and uncles. I lost a younger brother years ago as well as my mom and dad, and all of my aunts and uncles have passed over the years.

It's a part of life and nothing anybody can do about it.  We always have our faith knowing we will all be together again someday.

Another loss we feel especially hard is when we lose someone to suicide. Most of us may not understand it, and unfortunately, we all have or know someone who has gone through it.

Many Events To Help With Suicide Prevention

There have been many events to raise awareness about suicide loss and prevention thought the U.S, and many cities have "Out of the Darkness Walk"s according to fox47news.com.

There is one in our neck of the woods this Sunday right here in the Lansing area at Adado Riverfront Park.

In the past before COVID19 stunned all of us the walk had over 1,000 folks participate. . So far this year 600 have signed up.

The walk starts and ends at Adado Riverfront Park but will take walkers through the city. They will start with the bridge at Adado. There will be signage and you can walk around the Lansing Center up to the Capitol. We’ll weasel back through some of the side streets. Then we have a river trail portion to add some peace and tranquility to the walk.

This is amazing and such a great idea to raise money and prevent Suicide. The goal for this year’s walk is to raise $100,000.
