I think we're all in agreement - this winter has been brutal in Michigan.

And because of that, some families have had trouble paying their heating bills. And, some households have had trouble paying their heating bills, but are just above the income level required for state and federal assistance. That's why Consumers Energy employees and their families are taking part in more than 30 Walks for Warmth in Michigan this year. 100% of the money raised goes to help with heating bills and the money stays in the community where the walk is held. Last year 1600 employees and their families took part in the Michigan Walks for Warmth and raised more than $300,000.

The 2015 Lansing Walk for Warmth is happening this Saturday, starting at the Capital Area Community Services building on Rensen Ave., just off Jolly Road in Lansing. Registration starts at 10:30 and the walk will start at 11AM. WITL will be broadcasting LIVE from there starting at 10:30. An in addition to the walk, walkers will have a chance to bid on a silent auction and win door prizes.

Hope to see you there.
