Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day: How Much Will You Spend?
Do you have big plans for St. Patrick's Day? If you do, you're not alone. According to the National Retail Federation, this year the average American will spend $36.52 celebrating St. Patrick's Day. According to their research, the most popular way to celebrate will be at a restaurant or bar with 31% of survey respondents saying that they plan to do so on or about the 17th.
But not everyone celebrates St. Patrick's Day by heading to the nearest Irish bar. Just over eight in ten people surveyed said they’ll wear something green to celebrate and about a quarter of people just plan on decorating their homes with lots of 'green' things. Over 22% of people surveyed said that they plan to decorate their homes with shamrocks, leprechauns and pots of "gold."
