Banana Don started his broadcasting career as a teenage DJ near the Jefferson family farm in Rolla, Missouri - the "Gateway To The Ozarks" - on a small station powered by a water wheel. From there he went to St. Louis, MO. There he bought a bitchin' 1978 Camaro and hung out backstage with Bruce Springsteen, but there were no cell phones with cameras back then, so he has no proof. After that, he went to Pittsburgh, PA where he was on the radio every morning for almost 20 years. The highlight of that time was meeting his lovely wife Michelle, who was, at the time, Miss USA 1987. And, then, just as the Steelers were starting to win Superbowls again, Banana went to Birmingham, Alabama, to another "Top 40" radio station . Alas, he was now married, a dad and 40 years old. There was one last prank phone call to Britney Spears mom... and, it was over. He went looking for a job in country radio, and found one at WITL in Lansing. Banana Don and Michelle live in DeWitt. One daughter goes to school at MSU, the other is a hipster living in L.A. The Jeffersons have a German Shepherd named Axel who scares joggers and will try to eat anything smaller than an SUV. Banana enjoys deer hunting, NASCAR and any History Channel TV show having the word "alien" in it's title. And, yes, he has his commercial pilots license. And yes, he used to fly around in bi-planes upside down, but it cut into his beer drinking time, so he stopped doing that.
