During the winter months, the Northern Hemisphere (that's us!) gets to enjoy a much closer, and less obstructed view of the stars in our skies, making them seem extra bright. That's an extra special reason to attend Sleeping Bear Dunes "first-ever winter 'star party'".

According to MLive, the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore  will have park rangers and astronomers on hand for the party to "guide visitors on how to observe the night sky in near-total darkness". Of course, if you're Kristen level-cool, you'll have your own star locator, lol. Either way, weather permitting, you'll "be able to see the Orion the Hunter constellation and the Great Orion Nebula."

This event is totally free and everyone is welcome! The stargazing party will be held in the Dune Climbing parking lot from 7 to 9 pm on Saturday, February 25th. Get more info HERE.
