You Know You’re a Michigander When You’re Thinking About These This Time of Year
I'll go ahead and say it: I'm the Michigander who is wearing SPF and shorts while simultaneously dreaming of picking apples and eating apple cider donuts.
Here's the thing, though, I have a feeling that I'm not the only Michigander who feels that way.
Don't get me wrong, summer definitely has its up sides. However, there's just something about fall in Michigan that hits different.

Right now, we're in that transition period where we're going to go from spending days at the lake to spending days at the cider mill faster than you can say "flannel".
The Unmistakable Signs of a Fall-Loving Michigander
So in honor of this weird, wonderful time of the year—when it's still 85 degrees outside but you’re mentally picking apples at the cider mill—here are some things that scream, "You know you're a Michigander when..."
You Know You're a Michigander When...
- You're not mad to see the Halloween decorations out at Michael's.
- You still haven't been to a festival and Labor Day is right around the corner.
- You already have the pumpkin spice and apple cider candles out.
- You're wearing shorts and a t-shirt, with sunglasses on your head and a sweatshirt tied around your waist... just in case.
- You see one tree with a bit of orange and you're elated.
- The group chat is trying to decide which of your favorite cider mills has the best donuts.
And speaking of which cider mill has the best donuts, there are quite a few that are a short drive from Lansing. Places like Phillips Cider Mill and Uncle John's Cider Mill, both in St. Johns; Country Mill Farms in Charlotte; and Spicer Orchards in Fenton.
