Yes, it's true, the National Weather Service has issued a couple of Winter Weather Advisories for the Lansing area and beyond for today. The first advisory is in effect from 5 pm until 8 pm today--Monday, February 17th--which means the drive home from work (for those that are working on this President's Day) could be a little slippery. That advisory includes the following counties: Allegan; Barry; Calhoun; Eaton; Ingham; Jackson; Kalamazoo and Van Buren. The National Weather Service has also issued a Winter Weather Advisory that is in effect from 5 pm until 1 am on Tuesday for the following counties: Clinton; Gratiot; Ionia; Kent; Montcalm; Muskegon and Ottawa. The NWS says that those particular counties could see some mixed precipitation with total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze.
