When it comes to restaurants, Lansing has no shortage of places that locals adore. And perhaps, one of Lansing's favorite restaurants when it comes to breakfast is Fidler's on the Grand.

Fidler's on the Grand is a small diner located on Grand River near the airport. It first got its start back in August of 2018, bringing some West Coast and Southern cooking to our taste buds. And since that opening, Fidler's quickly grew into a favorite breakfast, brunch, and lunch spot for Lansing residents.

The Tragic Accident That Forced Fidler's to Close

However, tragedy struck one of the owners, Mark Taylor  and his family when they were involved in a deadly multi-vehicle accident on December 23, 2022. The Taylors sustained numerous injuries and also lost close family friend, 19-year-old Emma Smith in the aftermath.

From December of 2022 to January 2026, Fidler's remained closed. That was until Mark Taylor's son, Jacob, decided to reopen the diner!

Fidler's Reopened Earlier This Year

Fidler's on the Grand reopened on January 28, 2026, at first just open for to-go orders, but with plans to eventually open for dine-in service.

That brings us to now. Fidler's on the Grand has not posted to Facebook since May 15. Loyal patrons have noticed that Fidler's hasn't been open in several weeks. When you place a call to the business number, the call immediately disconnects. Not to mention, if you Google Fidler's on the Grand as of today, June 18, Google lists the business as permanently closed.

What's Happening With Fidler's on the Grand?

I have reached out to Fidler's on the Grand to see what might be happening, but they have not yet replied with a comment.

Can anyone shed any light as to what may have happened to Fidler's on the Grand? It would be so tragic to see this local business shut its doors for the last time, but we know it's not easy for restaurants right now. Hopefully we'll see Fidler's open its doors again in the future, if they are indeed closed.
